Kick off RECP Programme in Tourism Sector in Lake Toba

On this occasion CRECPI Team lead by CTA from UNIDO  Mr Permod Gupta, Mrs Puji Lestari on be half Deputy CRECPI ITB, Mr M.Iqbal as National Programme Manager and Dicky Mardyan as Tourism and Policy Associates  following up on the discussion within the Ministry of Tourism regarding the Lake Toba region in North Sumatera province as a national priority area of tourism development,

On this occasion CRECPI Team lead by CTA from UNIDO  Mr Permod Gupta, Mrs Puji Lestari on be half Deputy CRECPI ITB, Mr M.Iqbal as National Programme Manager and Dicky Mardyan as Tourism and Policy Associates  following up on the discussion within the Ministry of Tourism regarding the Lake Toba region in North Sumatera province as a national priority area of tourism development, in order to implement RECP program in 2017 to improve the competitiveness of Tourism through Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) approach. This training is an initial training as well Socialization RECP Program for Tourism. In collaboration with all stakeholders in Lake Toba governments, privates and educational institutions. The overview of RECP concept and methods were explained and the RECP options in tourism sector particularly hotel are briefly shared.

Held for four days 10-13 April continuing series from previous week in Medan for Provincial level explained on the progress of RECP implementation on palm oil mill sector and initiation or kick off on RECP Tourism in Lake Toba region.  Monday April 10th 2017  take place in Patra Jasa Parapat Lake & Resort  one day class room training opened by Local Government representative from Simalungun Tourism Head District Mr. Pahala Sinaga and Director of the Authority Board Of Lake Toba Mr Arie Prasetyo. S.  Pak Permod explain about RECP concept and practice in tourism secto and followed by Mrs Puji emphasize regarding overview RECP program in this training was also conducted discussion between Participant. In the afternoon before training finished CRECPI Team gave short brief and agenda for hotel visit or on the Job training visit for the following day until Thursday.

Total 13 demo unit being visit or asses from three districts Simalungun (Parapat), Samosir and Tobasa (Balige) ranging from star hotels to medium hotel and other possibilities option such as restaurant and craft center.
